We organize hundreds of group rides\, events\, and activities related to cycling annually. See more about us. \nMTC3 is a cycling club based in Chicago\, named after Marshall “Major” Taylor. Marshall Taylor was an African-American cyclist who became a world champion in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He faced racial discrimination during his career but still achieved significant success in the cycling world. \nMajor Taylor Chicago Cycling Club Mission Statement\nThe mission of the Major Taylor Cycling Club Chicago (MTC3) is to promote good health by supporting recreational and social cycling activities in the community. Our membership is open to all\, regardless of race\, creed\, or skill level. We are dedicated to safe and enjoyable cycling\, with rides offered for all ages and abilities. We do this with inspiration from our namesake\, Marshall “Major” Taylor\, who in 1899\, became the 1st African-American world champion in cycling.

I’m leading a “Pedal and Chill Around Sauk Lake” ride\, and you’re all invited to join the leisurely fun. \nHere’s the Scoop: \n\nDates:  Sunday April 7\, 2024\nStart Location: Lansing Woods (at 186th and Torrance go 5 blocks east see map below)\nPace: We’re keeping it chill at 14-15 mph. It’s all about enjoying the ride\, not racing through it.\nDuration: Aimed to wrap up in about 1.5 hours\, leaving plenty of your Sunday still free for whatever else you’ve got planned.\nWeather: Over 50 degrees of glorious sunshine expected\, making for a perfect day out on the trails.\nRide Leader: Jason Ward 708.609.0022 call/text\n\nRoute & More: \n\nI’ve chosen a scenic and straightforward route around Sauk Lake\, detailed on Strava here  https://www.strava.com/routes/3210299090787295964.
